My Favorite Christmas Memory

Christmas is a time in which rich memories are made, particularly for children. For weeks they anxiously await the day that they can peel back the beautiful wrapping paper on the gifts resting beneath the tree to reveal their contents. We thought it would be fun to ask residents at Cappella of Grand Junction what their favorite Christmas memory is. Below are a few of their stories – you’ll enjoy!

“Christmas when I was in the 6th grade… we lived in Denver and I still believed in Santa Claus. I loved all of my Christmas days as a kid. One Christmas I got a car that you could sit on. It had pedals and you could run around in it.” –Bill W.

“I got my bicycle when I was about 10. That was really something. It was white and light blue. I could ride to town because it wasn’t very far away. I used it when I got older because I didn’t have a car yet. I love reflecting on those memories all the time.” –Shirley N.

“We went to western Kansas from Colorado one year. My brother and his wife and five kids, alone with my wife and I and our four kids showed up to my mom’s house with only two bedrooms. That was quite the experience! My mom, my wife, and my brother’s wife cooked ham and turkey that we had on Christmas morning.” -Ernie B.
